Shepton Mallet Branch of the Royal British Legion is planting a tree in Collett Park to remember the 255 members of the United Kingdom Armed Forces who were killed in action during the Falklands Conflict in 1982.

Shepton Mallet Branch of the Royal British Legion is planting a tree in Collett Park to remember the 255 members of the United Kingdom Armed Forces who were killed in action during the Falklands Conflict in 1982.

The planting is also to show support to those service personnel and their relatives who physically, mentally and emotionally still carry the scars of that conflict.

The short ceremony will take place at 3:15pm on Sunday 2nd April 2023, the 41st anniversary of the Falkland Islands being invaded by Argentinian forces on the 2nd April 1982. The tree is being planted near the Charlton Road entrance to Collet Park.

All are welcome – you do not have to be a serving member of the Armed Forces or a Veteran to attend.
