A Shepton Mallet charity has highlighted its work in changing perceptions on how eating disorders are perceived, to mark World Mental Health Day.

The Somerset and Wessex Eating Disorders Association (SWEDA), in Shepton Mallet, is supported as a Local Community Fund local cause by both the Evercreech and Pilton Co-op stores, and it has used World Mental Health Day earlier this autumn as a springboard for a campaign to raise awareness of its work.

Co-operate is an online community centre bringing people in Shepton Mallet together to make good things happen. Whether you want to find things to do, volunteer, join a group or set up your own – it's for people who care about their community and want to join forces to get things done.

Co-operate helps build stronger communities where people are more connected. There are over 20,000 people, including 11,000 groups, sharing ways to get involved and support each other. Created with local communities, by local communities and for local communities.
