Shepton Mallet will officially kick off the Christmas season with an evening of festivities on Friday, 29 November, from 5 pm to 8 pm.

The annual Christmas lights switch-on will take place at 7 pm, bringing a glow to the town centre as local residents and visitors celebrate with an evening packed full of entertainment and holiday cheer.

The event promises fun for all ages with late-night shopping from local favourites, a bustling night market filled with crafts, food, and drinks, as well as workshops and creative activities. For families, there's plenty in store, with a Santa's Grotto and the chance to meet friendly donkeys for some festive petting.

Shoppers can warm up with hot food offerings, including a traditional hog roast, mulled cider, and other seasonal treats. Throughout the evening, live music and entertainment will fill the air, bringing a lively atmosphere to Shepton's streets. Free parking is available in the Ostry Street car park, making it easier for everyone to join the celebration.

With the lights officially on, Shepton Mallet's festive season will be in full swing, promising a memorable evening for the community and visitors alike.
