Fatal crash near Shepton Mallet sparks urgent appeal for witnesses

Law enforcement officials were summoned to the site of a lone vehicle accident early this morning (Sunday, 28 May) around 5:30 am on the A37 in Wraxall, near Shepton Mallet.

Polic are urgently seeking any witnesses or individuals with dashcam recordings related to a tragic accident in which a man lost his life near Shepton Mallet.

Law enforcement officials were summoned to the site of a lone vehicle accident early this morning (Sunday, 28 May) around 5:30 am on the A37 in Wraxall, near Shepton Mallet.

A single vehicle was found off the road, and sadly, a young man in his 20s was declared dead on site.

His family has been notified and a specially trained family liaison officer will be providing them support.

The A37 was temporarily closed but has since been reopened.

The officers speculate that the incident occurred approximately around 10:30 pm the previous night (Saturday, 27 May), but the vehicle was only found at 5:30 am today by an ambulance passing by.

Anyone who was present in the area between 10:30 pm yesterday and 5:30 am today to come forward.
