A van was badly damaged in a fire in Evercreech yesterday afternoon (June 9).

Just before 1.30pm, a fire engine from Shepton Mallet was sent to Queen's Road in Evercreech to reports of a fire.

On arrival, crews confirmed this to be a van fire, well alight.

The fire was extinguished using one hose reel jet, a thermal imaging camera and small tools.

The van sustained approximately 90 per cent fire damage and a property adjacent also sustained slight damage. The cause of the fire was accidental.
