Your role
We are looking for a seasonal bartender to support the hotel bar throughout the summer months and beyond on a seasonal basis.
In a seasonal bartender role, you will assist with the smooth running of beverage service. You will be confident, self-motivated, lead from the front and be passionate about hospitality, particularly beverages. Your prime focus will be on guest experience & providing the highest quality of hot & cold beverages whilst supporting your fellow team members. You will be willing to learn, delivering impeccable service and able to follow our steps of service. Creating and ensuring a close working relationship with your team is key, as department fluidity is essential for our business. Being able to have the passion and drive to tell our guests our story and how and why we do things the way we do at The Newt is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- To provide high quality, on trend, hot & cold beverages in a timely fashion
- Ensure daily upkeep and cleanliness of the bar & coffee machine ensuring equipment is maintained
- Making menu recommendations, answering questions and sharing additional information with guests to ensure the guest has the best possible experience when on the estate
- Supporting other team members within the whole department
- Following systems to uphold presentation and upkeep of the department
- Ensure you have great menu knowledge, learning from team leaders, giving you confidence in your delivery
- Willing to be flexible in different styles of service
- Maintain company representation, ensuring you always look impeccable
- Ensure The Newt's style of service and ethos is always upheld
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in a Bartender/Barista role
- Waiter role in high end F&B setting desirable
- Willingness to develop, grown and keep up with the demands of our developing business
- Confidence in talking to others
- Good attention to detail
- Great time management and self-motivated
- Passion for food, beverage and luxury hospitality

Where you'll be working - The Bar at the Botanical Rooms
Hadspen House is a focal point of our estate, housing a 23-bedroom hotel, library, bar and restaurant. We offer a true, farm to fork dining experience in a beautifully designed, atmospheric 60 cover restaurant. All food is prepared in our kitchen with ingredients fresh from our gardens or locally sourced, ensuring quality and seasonality throughout our offering.
Open for breakfast through to dinner, we also host afternoon tea in the library and early evening cocktails on the terrace. The department extends into the house, encompassing the bar, library, croquet lawn, terrace and badminton court - delivering exceptional service throughout.
