255 British servicemen died to liberate the Falkland Islands.

Shepton Mallet Royal British Legion will be meeting at the towns Cenotaph on Sunday, June 12 at noon to lay a wreath to remember the 255 British serviceman who died to liberate the Falkland Islands 40 years ago.

The conflict lasted 74 days and ended with the Argentine surrender on the 14th June 1982.

They will also recall the 649 Argentinian servicemen and the three civilians who also died.

All are welcome to attend, medals are requested to be worn please.
