Shepton Mallet parkrun appeals for more volunteer help
By Laura Linham 11th Feb 2026
Organisers of Shepton Mallet parkrun are appealing for more volunteers to help keep the weekly event running smoothly.
The free 5k event takes place every Saturday morning in Collett Park and relies entirely on volunteers to marshal, time, and support the hundreds of runners and walkers who take part.
A spokesperson said: "It doesn't have to be every week. Every now and again would be awesome and your generous contribution will help keep this great community event running smoothly."
Volunteers are given full guidance on the day, and new faces are always welcome. Residents interested in helping out are encouraged to email [email protected] or respond via the event's social media pages.
The Shepton Mallet event is part of the nationwide parkrun network and has been running since 2017. It starts and finishes in Collett Park, off Park Road, and regularly attracts participants from across Somerset.
