Shepton Mallet Town Council is on the lookout for local performers to bring music and energy to the town's weekly Friday Market.

Organisers are inviting buskers, acoustic acts and entertainers of all kinds to apply to perform during the weekly market, held in the Market Place in the heart of the town.

The initiative aims to boost footfall and create a welcoming atmosphere while giving local artists a platform to showcase their talent.

A council spokesperson said: "We're looking for talented performers to help bring joy, energy and ambience to our Friday Market."
