Quality Assurance Manager / QA Manager Shepton Mallet Area Up to £35k DOE plus benefits

My client, a successful international company who supply to wholesale, retail and food manufacturing environments, is looking to recruit a Quality Manager / QA Manager for their site near Shepton Mallet. The successful Quality Manager will be reporting into the Technical Director and managing a team of 6 QA's. Within the role you will be responsible for providing an efficient and professional Quality service ensuring Food Safety and Food Quality remains paramount to the success of the business, fitting into the sites Technical Agenda

The successful Quality Assurance Manager will enjoy being hands on and main duties and responsibilities will include: Custodian of the site quality standards Managing the Hold system on the Business Central system Checking incoming labels and packaging against approved and signed first production labels. Managing a team of QC Technicians and ensuring appropriate cover is provided during production. Monitoring and improving factory standards. Internal Audits as directed Weekly analysis of the Bio-trace system and cleaning systems and implementing action plans accordingly Attending the daily production meetings Metal detection Management as a SME level 4 Maintains the Holchem CIC system to ensure the site have up to date cleaning instructions Ensuring that every product run through the site have accurate guide to production Working with the Operations Manager to drive the factory standards also liaising with the Front-Line managers to resolve any quality issues arising A HACCP team member and designated reviewing official for HACCP and CCP activities. Quality department management with regards to training and development and ensuring adequate & efficient resources exists Key skills required for the Quality Assurance Manager role: Quality / Technical experience within production environments in the food /drink industry. Experience of BRC, HACCP implementation, facilitation of customer audits and QSM, quality system management. Excellent people management & communication skills.
