Targeted Support Worker

Salary: 24,500 per year - Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:00, no weekends or sleep ins

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract, until March 2025 with possibility of extension/permanent offer due to funding

Additional Information: A valid UK driving licence and access to own vehicle required. Business insurance will be needed for roles involving travel. General working hours are Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 17:00.

The Role:

As a Targeted Support Worker, you will provide guidance and assistance to vulnerable tenants with complex needs, particularly those with a history of rough sleeping. Your main focus will be to establish and maintain strong personal connections with tenants, enhancing engagement, overcoming obstacles, and preventing tenancy breaches.

You will manage a caseload of up to ten clients, though this number may vary depending on case complexity. These clients will come from various projects and services across the local area, making multi-agency collaboration essential.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Conduct needs assessments of at-risk and vulnerable tenants.
  • Provide and coordinate effective support, advice, and assistance to tenants to ensure they can maintain their tenancies.
  • Support tenants to access support, care, and health services.
  • Maintain regular contact with tenants, implementing support plans and undertaking appropriate support actions.
  • Provide case studies and reports on outcomes within the service.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • A valid UK driving licence and access to own vehicle, with business insurance for roles involving travel.
  • Experience working with vulnerable adults with complex needs and/or challenging behaviours.
  • Understanding of benefits and housing benefits systems.
