- Job Title: Maintenance Engineer
- Location: Castle Cary
- Work type: Temporary (approx.12 months)
- Rate of Pay: 23.00 - 26.00 per hour
- Working hours: 32- 40-hour hours (see below)
2 x 12-hour shifts (Saturday and Sunday 10:00 to 22:00)
2 x 8-hour weekday shifts (ideally Thursday and Friday 06:00 to 14:00 or 08:00 to 16:00)
HRGO Recruitment are seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our clients pet care factory based in Castle Cary. The ideal candidate will have experience with both electrical and mechanical maintenance.
Job Roles:
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on all machinery and electrical systems
- Diagnose electrical issues and perform timely repairs and replacements as needed
- Collaborate with the engineering team to develop maintenance plans and strategies.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company standards.
- Document maintenance activities and maintain accurate records of work performed.
- Provide technical support and guidance to colleagues and apprentices.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
- Using mechanical hand tools and basic fasteners
- drilling, Taping, pillar drills, bench grinders etc.
- LOTO or lock out procedures
- Carrying out welding (MIG, TIG) and Grinding
Requirements:
- Knowledge of factory electrical wiring (PLCs, Contactors, MCBs, Soft Starts, 3 phase motors, various sensors etc)
- Proficient with electrical testing equipment (multi-meters, testing equipment for dead)
- Harness trained
- MEWP trained (E.g. IPAF licence or equivalent)
- Good communication is a must to understand the technical issues that Operators are facing and to explain the fixes they are going to make
- Independent, and comfortable working alone, as they will often be the only Engineer on shift during the weekend production (although other Engineers will be available on call in case of issues)
- Basic competency with computers, sending emails, using Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel etc.
