The Co-op in Evercreech is raising money to support the victims of the flooding in Pakistan.
And to help boost the fundraising efforts, one of the store colleagues – Jackie Charlton - has agreed to walk to work instead of driving if the fundraising targets are met.
Store manager Mathew Tavener said: "Despite only living around a 10-minute walk away, Jackie does not like walking to work! I've always teased her about driving instead of walking.
"I suggested a few weeks ago that she should walk to work for charity and she agreed. We then settled on a target of £500 to walk for two weeks and I said if we get more than £1,000 would she walk for four weeks? She begrudgingly agreed, but only if I agreed to do the "forfeit" next year and get waxed!"
Shoppers at the store can donate at the tills by adding the donation to their shopping total, and donations can be from as little as 50p. Donations can be made until Monday, October 31.
