Shepton Mallet Skate Jam is returning to West Shepton Skate Park next month.

The event takes place on Saturday, 5 September, from 10 am to 4 pm, with workshops, demonstrations and competitions planned through the day. It is open to skaters, scooter riders and BMX riders.

Professionals will be on hand to offer coaching for people wanting to learn or improve. The event is open to all ages and abilities, with sessions aimed at complete beginners as well as more confident riders.

The day will begin with complete beginner and very young skateboard and scooter lessons from 10 am to 11 am. Skateboard and scooter lessons for all, with demonstrations, will then run from 11 am to midday.

Competitions will take place from 12.30 pm to 4 pm. Categories will include under-13 and over-13 sections for scooter, skateboard and BMX, with prizes available.

The event will be held at West Shepton Skate Park, Shepton Mallet, BA4 5XN. More information is available through Hello Shepton and Shepton Mallet Town Council.
