Readers of Shepton Mallet Nub News have named The King William Inn as their favourite pub in town for 2026 after casting their votes in the comments on social media.

Supporters said the pub stood out for its lively atmosphere, regular entertainment and sense of community.

The King William Inn drew praise from readers who said there is "always something going on to suit everyone". Comments highlighted bingo nights, quiz nights, karaoke, live music, pool, skittles and sport on the screens as some of the reasons it won support.

One reader wrote: "King William Inn Shepton Mallet fun, friendly atmosphere, everyone gets on with everyone and has a laugh.. bingo nights, quiz nights, karaoke and live music every weekend, shows all the sports on multiple screens along with pool league and skittle league.. something for everyone!"

The Highwayman Inn also featured prominently in the discussion, with readers saying it remains one of their go-to pubs in Shepton Mallet.
