The Movement Gym opens its doors this week to residents of Shepton Mallet and surrounding areas with a promise to offer a friendly, helpful and personal gym experience to everyone.

As an independently-owned gym, the owners say they are passionate about fitness and wellbeing, and aim to ensure the gym facility welcomes everyone regardless of fitness level or experience.

A wide variety of up-to-date fitness equipment - including interactive treadmills, cross trainers, bikes and rowing machines - are backed up by wall mounted televisions while those looking for upper and lower body workouts are catered for on the main floor space with a choice of fully-equipped plate-loaded, selectorised machines, weight plates, dumbbells plus an incline, decline and flat bench press.

A functional training rig, with body weight straps, punch bags, gym rings and battle ropes, is also available in the large and open studio to enable users to try out a range of different exercises.

Manager Daniel Newton said: "We are really excited to be opening the doors to what we think will be Shepton Mallet's most friendly and welcoming gym.

"We're conveniently located in the Market Place and open seven days a week (until 2pm on Saturday and Sunday) and have devised a range of membership and drop in prices to suit every budget."
