A Shepton Mallet care home manager has been shortlisted for a major South West care award.
Karen Reeves, Registered Manager at Field House, has been named a finalist in the Care Home Registered Manager category at the Great British Care Awards (South West region).
Karen began her career in 1991 as a care assistant and has worked her way up through various roles to become Registered Manager in 2011. She said:
"I am surprised and delighted to be shortlisted for the South West Care Home Registered Manager award. I've had the privilege of working with and leading amazing teams through the ever-changing and sometimes challenging world of social care.
"I imagine that whoever nominated me knows the limelight is not my natural habitat, but I am so proud this nomination shines a light on the incredible work of my team at Field House — and across the wider residential care sector."
The award recognises exceptional leadership, expertise and a commitment to person-centred care.
The regional winners will be announced on Wednesday, 13 November 2025. If successful, Karen will go forward to the national final.
