Shepton Mallet East Ward residents will go to the polls this Thursday, 23 October 2025, to elect two new members of Shepton Mallet Town Council.
Polling takes place between 7am and 10pm at the Somerset Council Offices, Cannards Grave Road.
This by-election follows two vacancies on the Town Council. Four candidates have been nominated:
- Fergus Brown – Independent
- Richard Last – The Conservative Party Candidate
- Christine Martin-Nicholson – Liberal Democrats
- David Swain – Reform UK
Only voters living in the East Ward are eligible to vote.
Town councillors help make decisions on planning, community services, public spaces, local events and small grant funding — all at the most local level of government.
