Shambles Carnival Club calls on Shepton spectators to get stuck in behind the scenes

If you've ever watched Shepton Mallet Carnival and thought, "I'd love to be part of that" — now's your chance.
Shambles Carnival Club is calling on carnival fans to swap the sidelines for the workshop and get involved in building one of Shepton's impressive 100ft carts. The club is on the lookout for carpenters, engineers, sprayers and anyone who enjoys a bit of DIY, whether you've got experience or just enthusiasm.
"We're looking for people aged 18 and over to come and be part of something brilliant," said the club. "Once you join, you'll be hooked."
Shambles say it's a great way to take up a hands-on hobby, meet new people, and play a role in one of Somerset's most spectacular traditions.
Anyone interested in joining can contact chairman Scott Whitcombe on 07967 722880, vice chairman Luke Ollis on 07983 111766, or comment on the club's social media posts and someone will be in touch.
