Police have stepped up patrols around Collett Park and the skate park after a run of weekend incidents where broken glass has been left scattered across the grounds.
The Shepton Mallet Neighbourhood Team says the problem is happening late on Friday and Saturday nights, with shards found across areas used daily by children, families and young people.
Officers say the behaviour is creating a clear safety risk, and patrols have now been increased to try to deter whoever is responsible.
A spokesperson for the neighbourhood policing team said: "We're aware of ongoing issues with broken glass being left in Collett Park and the skate park and we're increasing our patrols at key times. This kind of behaviour puts people at risk and we'd urge anyone who sees something suspicious, or knows who is involved, to report it."
Police say they are working with local partners as part of their response and want residents to report any information through 101 or the Avon and Somerset Police website.
The team says regular patrols will continue, adding that officers are also using the opportunity to engage with young people and reassure park users.
Anyone with concerns is encouraged to speak to officers on patrol or report incidents directly on 101.
