Shepton Mallet is offering £5,000 to experts who can help breathe fresh life into the town centre — with a new plan to get people back on the high street and businesses thriving again.
The town council wants consultants to build a clear, no-nonsense roadmap to boost footfall, slash shop vacancies and support Shepton's struggling independents. The plan will shape the next chapter of regeneration — and it needs to deliver real results.
Covering the commercial core around the Market Cross, the project will dig into what's holding the town back and where the biggest wins could be. Consultants are being asked to speak to local traders, landlords, councillors and residents — then come up with bold, practical steps the council can act on fast.
There's no room for fluff. Shepton wants clear actions, costed proposals and a realistic plan ready by the end of March 2026.
Quotes must be in by 5pm on Monday, 8 December 2025. Full details are available here.
