Former Whitstone School students were among the talented young artists from Strode College who showcased their outstanding work at the recent End of Year Art Show.

The event, a notable return to normalcy after three years of pandemic restrictions, was held on the college campus from the 13th to the 20th of June, witnessing a vibrant turnout from the students' families and the local community.

Harry Davies, an ex-pupil of Whitstone School, was one of the nine honoured students at this prestigious event. He clinched the Graphic Art Award, sponsored by Tor New Media. Harry, now studying A2 Graphic Design at Strode College, is planning to enter employment upon the completion of his course.

Another Whitstone School alumna, Megan Dallimore, impressed with her creative prowess. She was awarded the Painting Award, sponsored by Strode College itself. Megan, currently studying A-level Fine Art, plans to continue at Strode College to complete a Foundation Diploma in Art & Design.

John Revill, Principal of Strode College, spoke highly of the students' efforts: "I am always impressed by the maturity and high-level skills shown by our students, and it is a credit to them as I know that each individual has put their heart and soul into producing such high-quality work." He pointed to Harry and Megan as exemplars of the kind of dedication and talent nurtured at the institution.

Petrina Rochester, Head of Faculty Art and Science, expressed delight at the reintroduction of the public show after pandemic restrictions, adding that "our students have produced outstanding work, and this has been recognised in the awards."

Beyond the recognition and awards, the show provided a platform for the students to showcase the skills they've developed over their study years. The wider community was invited to witness and appreciate their remarkable talent.

Strode College, recognised as a conduit to some of the country's top specialist arts and media institutions, takes immense pride in the accomplishments of their students, particularly the success of their alumni from Whitstone School. As they prepare for their future endeavours, the college wishes Harry, Megan, and all participating students continued success.
