Somerstock 2024: Shakatak, The Barefoot Bandit, and more set to rock Somerton

Get ready, because this weekend Somerstock 2024 is set to electrify the festival grounds with a phenomenal lineup of bands.

Headlining the festival are British jazz-funk legends Shakatak, promising to bring their timeless hits and smooth grooves to the main stage. But that's just the tip of the iceberg – with a diverse array of bands across two stages, there's something for everyone.

Main Stage Madness

Friday Night Live (Main Stage)

  • Junebug: 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Winners of the Battle of the Bands contest, Junebug is a young, up-and-coming band from Strode College with a home-grown alternative rock spirit.

  • Twisted Vinyl: 7:20 PM – 8:20 PM

Twisted Vinyl performs barnstorming covers of timeless songs, from the 50s to modern classics. They're known for their energetic performances on the South West circuit.

  • Florence & the Bare Souls: 8:40 PM – 9:40 PM

Florence & The Bare Souls are a seven-piece band that blends soul, rock, and blues, drawing inspiration from both classic and modern influences.

  • Charlie Miller Band: 10:00 PM – 11:00 PM

The Charlie Miller Band plays original soul music and classic funk covers. With a lineup of talented musicians, their set promises to be a highlight of the festival.

Saturday (Main Stage)

  • Harri Pick: 12:45 PM – 1:30 PM

Harri Pick, a Somerset native, blends rock with modern sensibilities. Her music features unique vocals and contemporary indie rock influences.

  • The Cabarats: 2:15 PM – 3:15 PM

The Cabarats combine Balkan and Middle Eastern sounds with reggae and ska, using instruments like the accordion and oud for a unique musical experience.

  • Barefoot Bandit: 4:15 PM – 5:15 PM

The Barefoot Bandit blends reggae, punk rock, dub, and world music. They are a festival favourite known for their high-energy performances.

  • Matt Owens & the DVP: 6:15 PM – 7:15 PM

Matt Owens, formerly of Noah and the Whale, brings his Americana and rock-infused solo project to Somerstock, promising a dynamic set.

  • Classic Rock Revival: 8:15 PM – 9:15 PM

Classic Rock Revival covers the greatest hits from the 60s, 70s, and 80s, recreating classic rock anthems with precision and energy.

  • Shakatak: 10:00 PM – 11:00 PM

Known for their jazz-funk sound, Shakatak has been a staple in the music scene since the 80s. Their live performances are a blend of musical virtuosity and crowd-pleasing energy.

Second Stage Stunners

Saturday (Second Stage)

  • Stand Alone Empire: 1:30 PM – 2:15 PM

Stand Alone Empire, an acoustic duo from South Somerset, delivers popular covers and original songs with a unique twist.

  • Get Loose: 3:15 PM – 4:15 PM

Get Loose is a high-energy blues/rock band known for their dynamic live performances and original music.

  • That Britpop Band: 5:15 PM – 6:15 PM

That Britpop Band covers the best of 90s Britpop, delivering hits from Oasis, Blur, and more with high energy and precision.

  • Grizzly & the Grasshoppers: 7:15 PM – 8:15 PM

Grizzly & the Grasshoppers, an acoustic blues and roots band, bring gritty vocals and multi-instrumental talent to the stage.

  • DJ Slighty: 9:15 PM – 10:00 PM

DJ Slighty, a young DJ and producer from Somerset, will close out the festival with a mix of house, garage, and drum and bass.

Marquee (Friday and Saturday)

  • Friday Silent Disco: 7:00 PM – 11:00 PM
  • Saturday Children's Silent Disco: 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM
  • Saturday Adult Silent Disco with Live DJ: Evening

  • Gates open: 5pm on Friday 12th July, and 12 midday on Saturday 13th July.
  • Parking: £5.00, valid for both days.
  • Camping: £25.00, includes one vehicle with a tent or one campervan for the duration of the festival.
  • Festival times: Music starts at 6pm on Friday and at 1pm on Saturday, ending at 11.30pm each night.
  • Children under 12: Free entry (download a free ticket for each child).
