Shepton residents urged to report Sur-Ron bikes

Police step up patrols in Shepton Mallet as electric bike concerns continue in parts of town.
Residents in Shepton Mallet are being urged to report problem Sur-Ron bikes as police step up patrols across the town.
In an update issued on Thursday, 19 February 2026, the local Neighbourhood Policing Team said electric Sur-Ron bikes "continue to cause concern" in some areas.
Officers confirmed they are actively patrolling affected parts of Shepton Mallet and maintaining a visible presence to deter anti-social behaviour and respond to incidents as they arise.
Police are now calling on residents to share details of where and when the bikes are causing issues so patrols can be targeted more effectively. Specific locations have not been publicly identified.
Anyone witnessing incidents is encouraged to report them directly to police on 101.
