This weekend, Shepton Mallet transforms into a hub of activity with an array of events that cater to all tastes, from music lovers to aspiring homebuilders.

Kicking off the weekend's events is the Black & White Big Band Night at Gurney Slade & Binegar Memorial Hall on Saturday, 18th November. The Shepton Mallet Big Band will take centre stage, promising an evening filled with toe-tapping Big Band and Swing music. Tickets for this musical extravaganza are £12.50 per person, which includes a delightful party food platter. Those interested can book their spot online, and a cash bar will be available to keep the spirits high.

For those with a passion for home projects, the Homebuilding & Renovating Show at the Bath & West Showground is a must-visit. Running from the 18th to 19th November, this event is a treasure trove for self-builders and renovators. It offers everything from product showcases and expert-led seminars to tailored masterclasses and one-on-one consultations. An added bonus is the chance to grab two free tickets worth £24, a deal not to be missed for anyone looking to kickstart their home improvement journey.

But that's not all! Literally Shepton is underway, and Shepton Mallet Library hosts children's author Beth Webb, who will be delighting young audiences with 'Dragon Tales' on the morning of 18th November.

The Art Bank Cafe is bustling with activities throughout the day, including the 'Recycled Words workshop', a meet and greet with author Ben Kane, and an evening with 'Baked Alaska'. For theatre buffs, the Tor Theatre presents 'The Time Machine', a captivating performance at the Shepton Mallet Library.
