A popular Shepton Mallet pub with rooms and a function suite is looking for new operators – with a one-year tenancy deal and a forecast profit of nearly £50,000.
The Thatched Cottage, just outside the town centre, is being offered by Greene King for an annual rent of £50,000. The detached, thatched property features eight en-suite letting rooms, a function room, a large car park and a strong food and events trade.
Operators would need to pay entry costs of £16,000 and weekly rent of £962. The pub is fully tied, but with access to discounted wines, spirits and soft drinks. Machine profits are 100% to the licensee and the forecast turnover is £471,859, with operator profit expected at £49,361.
Greene King says the venue suits an experienced operator or couple able to manage both the kitchen and front of house. There's also scope to boost summer trade by upgrading the outdoor space.
"The Thatched Cottage has real potential for the right people," Greene King said. "This is a chance to be your own boss and build something special."
