Shepton Mallet Santa Cart hits the road for festive run

By Laura Linham   9th Dec 2025

Shepton's streets are getting the full festive treatment as the Shambles Santa Cart makes its annual return.

The 2025 route kicked off on Monday, 1 December and will run nightly until Saturday, 20 December — bringing music, lights and a cheery wave from Santa to homes across Shepton Mallet, Evercreech, Pilton, Doulting, Croscombe, Castle Cary and more.

Tonight (Tuesday, 9 December), the float will cover Summerleaze Park, Westfield, Compton Road, Eastfield Road and Allyn Saxon Drive.

The route runs 6 pm to 9 pm each evening, weather permitting, with key stops this week including St Peters Estate, Whitstone Rise, Beech Avenue, Collett Avenue and Tadley Acres.

The final weekend will see visits to Croscombe on Sunday, 14 December, Pilton on Friday, 19 December, and a big finish at TESCO Shepton on Saturday, 20 December.

Families are being urged to head out and give Santa a wave — and organisers say last year's donations helped keep the magic alive.
