Secret gardens of Kilver Court to open for charity this June

Two rare chances to wander through the private gardens of one of Somerset's most stunning hidden landmarks are coming up this month – and it's all in the name of charity.
Kilver Court in Shepton Mallet is opening its 3.5-acre gardens twice in June, offering visitors the chance to explore the lakes, lush planting, and iconic viaduct views that usually stay behind locked gates.
The first open day takes place on Thursday 12 June as part of the National Garden Scheme (NGS), with proceeds going to health and nursing charities across the UK. Expect winding paths, peaceful water features and a vibrant display of colour in this RHS partner garden.
Then on Sunday 15 June from 12 noon to 4.30pm, Kilver Court will open again — this time in support of the Shepton Mallet Snowdrop Project, which uses creative planting to bring the town together each winter.
Entry costs £6 and includes access to other open gardens across Shepton on the same day. All money raised goes directly to the project.
You can book in advance through the charities' websites or simply pay on the gate. Either way, it's a chance to enjoy some fresh air, support good causes, and see a side of Kilver Court that's rarely open to the public.
