Oakhill Church School has said a fond thank you to Ann Stringer after she retired following 33 years of service to the school.

Ann has been part of school life in Oakhill for more than three decades, working in a number of roles including crossing patrol lady, dinner lady and breakfast and afternoon club assistant.

For many families, she will be best remembered as the school crossing patrol lady, helping children safely across the road at the start and end of the school day.

Her work meant being outside in all weathers and being a familiar, reassuring face for children and parents over many years.

Ann's long service has previously been recognised by the school and Somerset County Council, including when she marked 25 years as Oakhill Church School's crossing patrol person.

Ann has now stepped down after 33 years at the school, bringing to an end a long association with Oakhill Church School and its families.

The school community has thanked her for everything she has done over the years.
