This week's job highlights: FLT Driver, Machine Operator, School Transport Driver, and more roles in Castle Cary, Shepton Mallet, and Evercreech.

Whether you're after shift work, school hours or a step up in engineering, this week's jobs round-up has you covered.

A warehouse in Castle Cary is looking for a FLT Driver to join their pet food production team. The job pays £13.50 an hour with time and a half for overtime and double pay on Sundays. Hours are 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday, but flexibility is key. You'll be scanning stock, loading lorries and shifting pallets, so a valid counterbalance forklift licence is a must.

Also in Castle Cary, a Machine Operator is needed to support rotating shifts – 6am to 2pm, 2pm to 10pm, or 10pm to 6am. Day rates are £13.06 and night shifts rise to £15.68, with premium pay for overtime. You'll be handling bag-packing machines, completing quality checks and keeping things clean on the production line.

If you're after a more people-focused role, consider becoming a Part-time School Transport Driver in Shepton Mallet. Pay is £12.21 an hour, with the potential to earn up to £1,000 a month depending on the route. Hours vary between 12.5 to 20 per week, term time only. A car licence is enough, and a vehicle is provided.

Over in Evercreech, a food factory needs a Production Line Leader to keep operations running smoothly. You'll earn £13.60 an hour, working Monday to Friday with some shift rotation at certain times of the year. You'll be supervising staff, monitoring quality and ensuring food safety standards are met.

Night owls might be interested in a Stacking Operative role in Castle Cary, paying £15.58 per hour. The job runs 10pm to 6am over three nights initially, with more shifts confirmed weekly. No experience required – just a good work ethic and a strong back.

Shepton Mallet Hospital is hiring a Hospital Engineering Technician for a permanent role paying £39,000 per year. You'll manage repairs and maintenance across the hospital, so a Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in mechanical or electrical engineering is required, along with knowledge of health and safety compliance.

If fresh air and creative teaching are more your thing, Wessex Lodge School near Frome is offering £24,000 a year for a full-time, term-time Outdoor/Sport/Forest School Instructor. You don't need formal teaching qualifications, but confidence, enthusiasm and a knack for engaging young people in outdoor learning are key.

A Class 2 Driver is also wanted in Shepton Mallet for pallet deliveries around the South West. The role pays £35,000 annually for weekday shifts. You'll need a valid UK Class 2 C licence and be comfortable with multi-drop work.

Lastly, if you prefer spanners to spreadsheets, there's a spot going for an HGV Technician / Mechanic at a national HGV manufacturer based in Shepton. The job pays up to £47,133 a year with 45 hours a week and paid overtime. You'll need a relevant qualification and a solid understanding of heavy goods vehicles.
