Shepton Mallet AFC continued their impressive form with a commanding 3-0 win away at Bridgwater United on Tuesday evening. This marks the team's third league victory in just eight days, a sign of their recent revival under manager Aaron Seviour.

Having struggled at Bridgwater in the past, Shepton turned the tide with a solid performance. Seviour stuck with the same backline that kept a clean sheet last Saturday, and the decision paid off with another defensive masterclass.

The first half was a battle of long balls, with both teams cancelling each other out. Shepton goalkeeper Owen Crawford was the busier of the two, making key saves from Noah Brown and Luke Newman, although Newman appeared to be offside before getting his shot off. On the other end, Cam Allen looked most likely to break the deadlock for Shepton, with Josh Jenkins testing Bridgwater keeper Liam Kingston with a headed effort.

The game turned dramatically just one minute into the second half when Kingston's attempted punch from an Allen cross struck Shepton's Benjani Jr Mwaruwari on the head, deflecting into the net for the opener.

Shepton pressed on, and shortly after, Benjani forced another save from Kingston following a neat exchange with Paul Braithwaite. Their pressure paid off before the hour mark when Bridgwater's Jamie Price turned an Allen free-kick into his own net, doubling Shepton's lead.

With little response from the hosts, Shepton's third goal came with 20 minutes to go. Braithwaite won possession and played the ball to Allen, who set up Benjani. The forward then found substitute Charlie Bateson, who finished expertly from 12 yards into the far corner, sealing the three points.

Although Bateson was sin-binned with 10 minutes remaining, Bridgwater couldn't muster a consolation. Shepton's defence remained resolute, and the hard-working midfield ensured the clean sheet stayed intact. Seviour nearly added a fourth deep into stoppage time, but by then, the result was already secured.

Paul Braithwaite was named Shepton's Man of the Match, edging out strong performances from Monty Burgess and Harry Rutty.
