Three members of Shepton Judo club traveled to the Marrakech in Morocco to compete in the Veterans World Championships.
The competition saw competitors from around the globe competing against the world's best in their weight categories.
The Shepton squad fought some epic battles and all three players brought home medals for Great Britain, an outstanding achievement.
Colin Francis won silver and Donna Riggs and Jo Gregory both won bronze medals. This makes a quarter of all medals for Great Britain, a club that trains out of village halls and a school hall.
Colin, Donna and Jo would like to thank the club for their effort and dedication for preparing them to achieve this spectacular feat.
It has been a very successful month for Shepton Judo competing in two prestigious events. At the Commonwealth Championships held in Walsall a squad of six Shepton players exhibited top quality judo in a bid for victory.
Impressively all six players brought home medals for England, crowning three of its members commonwealth champions - Dianne White, Jo Gregory and Colin Francis who all took gold for England.
Donna Riggs and Mandy Gregory were silver medallists and Frank Boardman a bronze medallist.
Dianne White (5th Dan) head coach said: "I am so proud to have coached and fought alongside the other members of the team, and would like to thank the rest of the club, for their help in preparing the team, for this championship."
Shepton Judo club trains weekly at Doulting, West Pennard and Wells, and is open to anyone over the age of five to come and give it a go.
Complete beginners and returning players made most welcome. For more information call or text Dianne on 07940 716737 or search Facebook for sheptonjudoclub.
