Woodstock guitarist brings farewell tour to Shepton

A guitarist who performed before hundreds of thousands of people at Woodstock is heading to a considerably smaller stage in Shepton Mallet.
Barry "The Fish" Melton will bring his farewell UK tour to the Art Bank on Friday, 7 August.
Melton was a founding member, lead guitarist and vocalist with Country Joe and the Fish, one of the groups associated with San Francisco's psychedelic rock scene during the 1960s.
The band appeared at the Monterey Pop Festival in 1967 before performing at Woodstock two years later. Its appearance was included in the Academy Award-winning film documenting the festival.
Melton is travelling from San Francisco for what has been billed as his final UK tour.
He will be joined in Shepton Mallet by his long-standing UK-based band, The Psych Unit.
The evening will open with Under The Stars, a tribute to Grateful Dead guitarist and vocalist Jerry Garcia.
The support band includes members of Melton's Paris-based group Jamasutra, including his long-time sideman Stephane Missri.
Lighting for the show will be provided by Glastonbury's Dr Love.
Doors will open at 7pm, followed by Under The Stars at 8pm. Melton and The Psych Unit are expected to take to the stage at around 9pm.
Tickets cost £12 and can be booked through the Art Bank website.
