Police are appealing for information after a distinctive classic Mini was stolen during burglaries at Crowne Trading Estate in Shepton Mallet.

Avon and Somerset Police said burglaries at four units on the estate were reported at around 8.15 am on Wednesday, 15 July. A green 1973 Austin Mini pick-up is believed to have been stolen from one unit between 12.30 am and 7.30 am that morning.

Tools of significant value were also stolen from the same unit. Police said photographic equipment was taken from another unit, while windows were broken at two further units but entry was not gained.

Officers said enquiries are continuing and they remain in contact with the victims. Police said those affected have suffered financial harm and have understandably been left distressed by the incident.

Avon and Somerset Police said they do not believe the burglaries were targeted. They are asking witnesses, anyone with information about the incident or the whereabouts of the Mini, and anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage from around the time of the incident to come forward.
