Whether you're already volunteering in Shepton Mallet or just thinking about getting involved, a new event this June could help you take the next step.

Shepton Mallet Town Council, in partnership with Spark Somerset, is hosting a community volunteer event at the Amulet on Thursday 3 June, from 3pm to 6pm.

The drop-in session is aimed at recognising the many people who give their time to support the town's community groups and services – and helping others find ways to get started.

As well as celebrating local volunteers, the event will offer advice on setting up your own group, applying for funding, developing projects, and getting governance and policies in place.

Organisers say it's a chance to have a coffee and a conversation with Spark Somerset and Shepton's wide range of local groups and charities – whether you're looking to join in or grow something new.
