It’s a packed line-up of local events, egg hunts and activities designed to keep the kids happy and your wallet (mostly) intact.

What's On in Shepton Mallet is brought to you by our sponsors, Studio24 in Wells, La Bella Italian Restaurant and the Bath and West Showground.

If your calendar's looking empty this Easter break, Shepton Mallet has you covered.

From detective training behind bars to a dog lover's dream day out, it's a packed line-up of local events, egg hunts and activities designed to keep the kids happy and your wallet (mostly) intact.

If you fancy kicking off your break with some Britpop-fuelled nostalgia, don't miss Oas-is at Studio 24 in Wells. The UK's top Oasis tribute act will be belting out the hits on Friday 11 April – and yes, they'll play the ones you know.

Need something slightly more wholesome? Pop over to Street for a free Health & Wellbeing Networking Event at The Bear Inn on 11 April. It's aimed at solo wellness pros, but anyone who fancies a cuppa and a chat is welcome.

On Saturday 12 April, it's time to put the kettle on (again) and support a great cause at Guide Dogs Every Cuppa Counts at Lime Close Hall, Street. There's cake, stalls and a fundraising mission to name a puppy Claire.

More of a brass band fan? Glastonbury Brass is performing a spring concert on Sunday 13 April at St Benedict's Church. Expect tunes, trumpets and the kind of acoustics that make your nan say "ooh, lovely sound".

Over at The Bishop's Palace in Wells, it's full-on family Easter chaos from 5 to 21 April. Trails, crafting, sunflower seed planting and actual medieval games are on offer, along with live birds of prey at the Medieval Falconry Day on Saturday 12 April.

Wells Cathedral is also in on the action with free drop-in family crafts from 7 to 11 April. Make crosses, gardens and cards – all with just enough glitter to come home on your kid's jumper.

In Easton, the Annual Parish Meeting on 11 April promises seed swapping, speakers and community bonding (translation: snacks and a good gossip).

Shepton Mallet is joining the fun with a Repair Café at The Art Bank on 12 April. Bring your broken stuff – from kettles to consoles – and see if local volunteers can fix it while you sip coffee and marvel at your own frugality.

There's also a Table Top Sale at The Shrubbery Hotel on Sunday 13 April, raising funds for Macmillan. It's part market, part charity boost, and a decent excuse to browse other people's clutter.

If you're more of a dog person (aren't we all?), you won't want to miss The Big Bark 2025 at the Bath & West Showground on Sunday 13 April. Agility, flyball, shopping, street food and more dogs than you can shake a gravy bone at.

And finally, for a very different kind of day out, Shepton Mallet Prison is offering Easter egg hunts, bunny mask making and detective training. Because nothing says springtime like solving fake crimes in a real jail.

Whatever you get up to this Easter, just don't forget to bring snacks, pack a coat, and double-check who's actually got the kids. You're welcome.
