Popular TV antiques expert Paul Martin will be sharing his knowledge and experience with residents of Shepton Mallet on Sunday 21st January, by hosting a free community valuation day at The Cheeky Bean café, Shepton Mallet.  

The valuation day, which is being run in partnership with world-renowned Devizes auctioneers Henry Aldridge & Son, for which Paul is Head of Valuations, will take place between 10:30am – 3pm and is intended to encourage members of the public to bring along those items they've always been curious about for discussion, valuation, and possibly sale. 

Paul would be delighted to see items ranging from antiques, collectables, silver, gold, militaria, and jewellery. 

The event is part of a series of valuation days run by Paul in his role with Henry Aldridge & Son, and Paul is looking forward to seeing what the people of Shepton Mallet will bring along. 

Paul said, "Somerset has a rich cultural heritage, and I'm always thrilled to see the incredible objects people bring in. These events are a fantastic way to uncover hidden gems, hear fascinating stories, and offer insights into the items that mean so much to people."

The valuation day gives locals the opportunity to have their items appraised by an expert and gain insights into both their historical and monetary value. 

"Whether it's a family heirloom or an interesting find from a charity shop, I'm looking forward to learning the history behind each item," said Paul. 

"Even though I still enjoy my TV career, I'm first and foremost passionate about antiques, and these events allow me to reconnect with that love. It's always amazing to hear the stories people have to tell about their objects." 

Paul, best known for presenting the BBC show Flog It! is also a regular on Antiques Road Trip and Britain's Hidden Heritage, and currently hosts Paul Martin's Auction Showdown, airing on My5.
