Pop culture fans in Shepton Mallet are in for a treat this September as the Somerset Comic Con and Gaming Festival arrives at the Bath & West Showground on Saturday, 28th September 2024. This all-day event is set to bring the best in comics, gaming, and cosplay to the heart of Somerset, with a fantastic line-up of guests and activities for all ages.

What's happening?

Visitors can expect a wide range of entertainment and activities, including:

• Cosplay and costume groups: Join the fun and show off your best costumes alongside fellow fans.
• Gaming Zone: Explore a variety of interactive gaming experiences, brought to you by G4U.
• Tabletop gaming: Dive into strategy and board games, a great way to meet new players.
• Comic artists: Meet UK-based comic artists and get a glimpse of their latest work.
• Dino Zone: A fun area dedicated to dinosaur enthusiasts, perfect for families.

Special guest appearances

Two exciting celebrity guests will be making appearances at the event, with others still to be announced.

• Greg Austin: Best known for his role as Charlie Smith in the popular TV series Class (a Doctor Who spin-off), Greg has also starred in the award-winning Amazon series Hunters, alongside Al Pacino. His work in sci-fi and action series makes him a fan-favourite guest at Comic Con events.
• Dominic Carter: Recognised for his portrayal of Janos Slynt in Game of Thrones, Dominic has also appeared in The Bill, Doctors, and Coronation Street. His presence at the festival promises to attract fans of fantasy and drama alike.

Also joining the guest list is Laurie Goode, who famously played a Stormtrooper in Star Wars: A New Hope and has appeared in classic British series such as Doctor Who and Blake's 7.
