Shepton Mallet skies to light up with 600-drone space show
By Laura Linham 28th Jan 2026
Shepton Mallet will host a jaw-dropping aerial show next month as 600 drones take to the sky for a night of storytelling, music and lights.
The Space Safari Drone Light Show lands at the Bath and West Showground on Saturday, 14 March 2026, promising an out-of-this-world experience for all ages.
The high-tech display features hundreds of synchronised drones creating stunning animations in the night sky, backed by a powerful soundtrack and narration from BAFTA-winning TV presenter Michaela Strachan.
Organisers say the show will offer "cinematic storytelling in the sky" — with a wanderlust tale of bravery and adventure told through immersive visuals and sound.
Alongside the main show, visitors can enjoy:
• Fairground rides
• Face painting
• Street food stalls
• Eco-conscious event setup
Tickets are on sale now — under-threes go free and parking starts at £7, with advance booking advised. Book here.
Drone shows are weather-sensitive. If conditions force a postponement, ticket holders will be moved to a backup date between Sunday 15 and Wednesday 18 March. Tickets are non-refundable in the event of rescheduling.
