The Dairy Show returns to the Royal Bath & West Showground tomorrow, bringing cattle competitions, more than 250 trade stands and new live machinery demonstrations to the site near Shepton Mallet.
Farmers, students, agricultural businesses and visitors will gather on Wednesday, 7 October, for a programme covering livestock, equipment and the challenges facing dairy farming.
The showground, a sponsor of Shepton Mallet Nub News, will welcome visitors from 8.30am until 5pm. Advance adult tickets cost £22, with the discounted rate available until midnight tonight, Tuesday, 6 October. Adult admission on the gate is £26, student tickets are £15 and children under 15 enter free. Parking is also free.
New for 2026, Reco and Redlynch will run working machinery demonstrations in the Main Ring throughout the day. Visitors can also book an opportunity to try a machine themselves, with the companies based at stand 106 on Avenue B.
Cattle competitions remain central to the show, with exhibitors competing in breed classes before the champions go forward for the Supreme Champion title.
The event will also host the Jersey Cattle Society of the UK and English Guernsey Cattle Society National Shows.
Away from the cattle ring, the Agri Forum will examine some of the financial and practical pressures facing farm businesses.
The first discussion, at 10.30am, will cover contracts, cashflow and conflict in dairy businesses. A session from 11.30am to 12.15pm will explore whether anaerobic digestion could turn slurry into an income source, followed by a discussion on inheritance tax and the future of farming from 1.30pm to 2.15pm.LandAlive also returns with discussions on regenerative dairy farming, including profitability, supply chains, animal health and artisan production. Tickets for that programme can be purchased alongside Dairy Show admission.
More than 250 trade stands will give visitors the chance to meet suppliers and explore agricultural products and services. A free show programme will be available on arrival.
Tickets and further information are available through the Dairy Show website, or by calling 01749 822200.
