This weekend offers an exciting variety of events in Street, Glastonbury, Wells, and Shepton Mallet, with something for everyone to enjoy—from immersive magical experiences and art exhibitions to thrilling truck shows and live music performances.

In Glastonbury, the unique and highly anticipated Bizarre Glastonbury event takes place from Saturday, 31st August to Sunday, 1st September. Held at a secret venue just off the High Street, the event promises an immersive experience featuring magical storytelling, rituals, divination, and skill development workshops. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in drumming, chanting, and meditation, all while connecting with like-minded individuals in the heart of Avalon. Music lovers in Glastonbury are in for a treat on Saturday night as Revelation Roots performs at The King Arthur from 8:00 pm to 11:00 pm. On Friday, 30th August, IBIZA ANTHEMS with Jay Nino will also take place at The King Arthur from 8:00 pm to midnight, offering a dance-worthy night of house music.

At Studio24 in Wells, get ready to groove with Johnny2bad, the award-winning 8-piece band that brings the reggae vibes of UB40 to life. With hits like "Here I Am," "Red Red Wine," and "Kingston Town," this show will get everyone dancing and singing along. Get ready to groove with Johnny2bad in Wells

For those interested in family-friendly outdoor activities, the RSPB Ham Wall in Meare is hosting pond dipping on both Saturday and Sunday, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. This hands-on activity provides a great way for families to explore the natural world. Meanwhile, Stone Age Survival Skills at Avalon Archaeology on Saturday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm offers an interactive day of learning ancient survival techniques.

On Sunday, September 1st, Barney Kenny will be performing at The King Arthur from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm, while Sunday Sessions at The Railway Inn in Meare from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm will close the weekend with a relaxing vibe.

Over in Wells, the Wells Art Contemporary exhibition continues at Wells Cathedral until Thursday, 31st August. This art showcase features 121 multimedia works displayed within the cathedral's medieval Cloisters and 19 site-specific installations placed throughout the cathedral and its grounds. For music enthusiasts, Chapterhouse Presents 21st Century Queen at The Bishop's Palace in Wells on Sunday, 31st August is a must-see event. Gates open at 7:00 pm for an 8:00 pm performance that will showcase some of Queen's biggest hits, including Bohemian Rhapsody and We Will Rock You. Wells will also be buzzing with activity on Saturday, with Repair Saturday at Wells Library from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm, providing a sustainable event focused on repairing household items. Additionally, Moscow Drug Club will perform at Cedars Hall from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm, blending jazz, cabaret, and music for an atmospheric evening.

In Shepton Mallet, Truckfest South West 2024 takes centre stage at our sponsors, The Showground on Saturday, 31st August, and Sunday, 1st September. This family-friendly event has been entertaining crowds since 1983, offering monster trucks, arena stunt shows, celebrity appearances, and exhilarating rides. Meanwhile, Circus in the Park will take place at Collett Park on Sunday at 11:00 am, providing a fun and free family event.
