This weekend, Shepton Mallet becomes a hub of activities and events, offering something for everyone, from music lovers to those keen on community engagement and historical explorations.

A Weekend Full of Music and Community Events

The weekend kicks off with a musical performance by Sam Evans at The Art Bank Cafe on Friday, 12th April, from 8 pm to 11 pm. Known for his captivating melodies, Sam Evans is set to provide an unforgettable evening for those who cherish live music in an intimate setting.

On Saturday, 13th April, the town's musical landscape diversifies with several acts across different venues. Professor Green is expected to draw crowds at the sponsors of this newsletter, The Bath & West Showground from 6:30 pm to 11:30 pm, offering an energetic performance that's not to be missed - and it's all for a good cause.

Meanwhile, Spencer Flay takes the stage at The King William from 8 pm, promising an evening of acoustic delights in West Shepton. For those searching for a blend of high-energy Balkan, Klezmer, and Roma music, Opa Rosa will be performing at Ditcheat Village Hall, with doors opening at 6:45 pm for a 7:30 pm start. Tickets are available at £10/£8 concessions, £36 for a family, ensuring an accessible cultural experience for all.

Shepton Mallet is also full of community spirit this weekend. The Shepton Mallet Repair Café, happening on Saturday, 13th April, from 11 am until 1 pm at the Art Bank offers a chance to breathe new life into beloved items. From hoovers to jewellery, volunteer repairers are on hand to mend and share repair tips, embodying the community's commitment to sustainability.

Garden enthusiasts can look forward to a Gardening Masterclass on Saturday, 13th April, from 9 am to 11 am, while the Somerset Youth Concert Band offers a musical treat on Sunday, 19th April, from 7 pm to 9 pm at Cedars Hall, Wells.
