Shepton Tesco assault probe after two attacked

Police were called to a retail outlet at Townsend Shopping Park in Shepton Mallet at about 5pm on Wednesday, 1 April, after a report of a public order incident.
Two people were assaulted, but neither suffered serious injuries. Avon and Somerset Police said the suspects left the scene before officers arrived.
Enquiries are continuing and anyone who witnessed the incident, has information, or knows the identity of those involved is being asked to call 101 quoting reference number 5226089730.
A Tesco spokesperson said: "Our Shepton Mallet Superstore is open as normal following a short closure yesterday. We apologise for the inconvenience caused."
The incident happened at Townsend Shopping Park, home to the Tesco Superstore on the edge of Shepton Mallet.
