Shepton police probe after cafe fire

Police have launched an appeal after a fire which damaged Collett Park Café in Shepton Mallet was found to have been started deliberately.
Officers were called with Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service to Collett Park, off Park Road, at about 8.45pm on Saturday, 21 March, after reports of a bin fire next to the café.
Two fire crews attended and found the fire had spread from the bin to a hut, significantly damaging the cladding.
Avon and Somerset Police said enquiries are ongoing and urged anyone who saw anything suspicious, or who has relevant footage, to come forward.
A police spokesperson said: "We were called at around 8.45pm on Saturday (21 March) to Collett Park, off Park Road in Shepton Mallet, to reports of a bin on fire.
"Officers supported the fire service who extinguished the fire, which is thought to have been started deliberately.
"Enquiries are ongoing, and anyone with any information, or who witnessed anything suspicious or has relevant footage are encouraged to call 101 and quote reference 5226078483."
