The list of events happening in and around Shepton Mallet this week just got even better.

We'd like to express our heartfelt thanks to our sponsors, the Bath and West Showground, for their invaluable support, especially as they are also hosting one of this week's notable events, Craft4Crafters.

Starting on Thursday, 12th October and running until Saturday, 14th October, Craft4Crafters is one of the largest hobby and needle craft exhibitions in the Southwest of England. It will open its doors from 10:00 to 17:00 at the Showground. With tickets starting from £9, it promises to be a crafter's paradise, featuring a plethora of crafting supplies from stitching and knitting to papercraft and stamping. The event also includes an array of workshops to help you pick up new skills and ideas.

Starting on Friday, 13th October, brace yourselves for a spooky adventure with a Friday 13th Ghost Hunt at Shepton Mallet Prison. The eerie event will take place overnight, running from Friday into Saturday, at the infamous Shepton Mallet Prison on Frithfield Lane.

As for Saturday, 14th October, the day is filled with a variety of activities.

Kick off your morning by picking your own pumpkins at Farrington's Farm Shop & Cafe in Farrington Gurney from 09:00 to 16:00.

Those interested in sustainable living can attend 'Stitch It, Don't Ditch It,' a sociable mending event at Bruton Community Hall on Silver Street from 09:45 to 11:15. Alternatively, you could visit Shepton Mallet Repair Cafe hosted by Sustainable Wells, taking place from 10:00 to 12:00 at The Art Bank Cafe on High Street.

Simultaneously, Bruton Community Hall will also be hosting a Coffee Morning from 10:00 to 12:00.

If you fancy some spectacle, don't miss the Castle Cary and Ansford Carnival which starts at 7pm in Castle Cary.

Wrapping up the weekend on Sunday, 15th October, there's a Wedding Fair from 11:00 to 15:00 at The Bishop's Palace & Gardens in Wells.

So mark your calendars and enjoy the vibrant community spirit Shepton Mallet has to offer this weekend.
