Shepton Mallet police step up patrols over anti-social behaviour
By Laura Linham 22nd Oct 2026
Police have stepped up patrols in Shepton Mallet after identifying anti-social behaviour as a neighbourhood priority. Residents are being urged to report incidents to help officers identify where action is needed.
In an update published on 16 October, the neighbourhood policing team said the town was experiencing anti-social behaviour "in a number of forms". Officers said they were aware of residents' concerns and had increased patrols in affected areas.
The update does not identify particular streets or locations, or give details of the incidents behind the decision. It also does not provide figures showing whether reports have increased.
The team is asking anyone who witnesses or experiences anti-social behaviour to report it through 101 or the Avon and Somerset Police website. Information can also be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers.
Police said: "Your information helps us identify problem areas and take appropriate action."
