As September draws to a close and the season shifts towards autumn, Shepton Mallet offers a rich palette of events that are sure to satisfy diverse interests. For those with a penchant for the arts, culture and spirituality, the coming weekend has a lot on offer, kicking off as early as 26 September.
Fiona Campbell's exhibition as part of Somerset Open Studios continues until 1 October. Hosted at Laundry Cottage on Cook's Lane in Cranmore, the artist's work provides an enriching experience for art lovers. On a similar note, 'Art On The Vines' runs from Friday, 29 September to Sunday, 1 October at Wraxall Vineyard. This promises to be an interesting blend of art and viticulture, set against the backdrop of the scenic vineyard.
For families with young aspiring drivers, the Bath & West Showground is hosting 30-minute young driver sessions on Saturday, 30 September. It's an educational and fun way for youngsters to get a feel for driving under controlled circumstances.
If you're looking for something a bit different, the Art Bank Cafe on High Street is featuring 'Marine Boy' from Saturday, 30 September to Sunday, 1 October. It's an intriguing opportunity to immerse oneself in the world of art and creativity.
For music enthusiasts, St James C of E Church Hall in Winscombe welcomes Reg Meuross for a live performance at 20:00 on Saturday. The acoustic artist's authentic voice is sure to resonate with those who appreciate nuanced storytelling through song.
As October arrives, the Arusha Gallery at The Old Silk Barn on Quaperlake Street in Bruton will feature Paige Perkins's 'Hot Mess' exhibition from 1 to 29 October. The exhibition promises to offer an insightful look into modern art and expression.
