Women in Shepton Mallet are being given a unique opportunity to contribute to their community's safety through Avon and Somerset Police's innovative 'Walk and Talk' program.

This initiative will pair local women with female police officers or PCSOs, guiding them through areas where they may feel particularly vulnerable or uneasy.

"We are committed to understanding the specific needs and concerns of our community," said a spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police. "The insights from the women of Shepton Mallet will be invaluable in shaping how we protect and serve this area.

"We're eager to work together to create a safer environment for all."

Women aged 18 or over residing in Shepton Mallet are encouraged to participate by emailing [email protected].
