Shepton Mallet set for Great Big Litter Pick Sunday
By Laura Linham 19th Mar 2026
Shepton Mallet Town Council says its Great Big Litter Pick will begin at 10 am on Sunday, 22 March, at Art Bank, with volunteers then split into teams to tackle designated areas around town.
Organisers say the clean-up will finish at 12 pm, when volunteers will return for a snack donated by local food businesses as a thank-you for taking part.
Residents are being asked to bring gardening gloves and sturdy boots. Litter pickers and bags will be provided, although anyone with their own equipment can bring it along. The council says there is no need to book and people can simply turn up on the day.
The event is one of several taking place in Shepton Mallet as part of the wider Great British Spring Clean campaign. In a show of early support, Shepton Mallet Fire Station crews also spent time cleaning road signs in the town.
The town council thanked Watch Manager Matt and the fire station team for their work, saying their support had helped give the campaign a strong start.
Anyone planning to join is being advised to wear suitable outdoor clothing and sturdy footwear for the two-hour clean-up around Shepton Mallet.
