Shepton Mallet Rotary Club donate hundreds to help fund new charity adviser
Shepton Mallet Rotary Club have stepped up to the mark by providing Citizens Advice Mendip with a donation to support their work.
Even though Rotary have not been able to fundraise because of the pandemic, they felt so strongly about helping Citizens Advice Mendip that they dug into their reserves. The donation of £1,485 will be used to recruit, equip, train and supervise a volunteer for a year.
Ed Moreland, president of Shepton Mallet Rotary Club, said: "We are delighted to support another local charity that does so much to help the local community."
Ian Byworth, CEO of Citizens Advice Mendip, said: "We are very grateful to Shepton Mallet Rotary for their generosity.
"It means that we can afford to bring a new adviser onboard to help even more people. Now, more than ever as a charity that needs to raise funds, Citizens Advice Mendip is dependent on donations such as this to continue what we do."
